Star Performer -- Senior Airman Amanda Valadez, from the 460th Operations Group, is Team Buckley's Star Performer for the week of Oct. 20 - 26.

Name: Amanda

Unit: 460th Operations Group Commander's Support Staff

Time in Service: Five years and 10 months

Duty Title: Commander Support Staff Journeyman

Hometown: Ogden, Utah

Hobbies: Camping, hiking, snowboarding, reading and traveling.

How do your day-to-day duties contribute to mission success?
I work in the commander's support staff, where I provide administrative support to all of the commanders assigned to the 460th OG and the more than 500 people. I serve as the point of contact for customers and inbound personnel. I also ensure personnel information is accurate and up-to-date and all promotions, evaluations and decorations are processed in a timely and efficient manner.

If you could change one thing about the Air Force what would it be?
I would like to see an automated process for evaluations, similar to the LeaveWeb program. I think such a process would eliminate late reports and tracking errors.

What has been your most memorable experience in the Air Force?
My most memorable experience was the 9/11 attacks and the feeling of pride and patriotism I had while serving my country during that time.

Duties, responsibilities, and accomplishments:
My duties and responsibilities include the following:
Urinalysis monitor, LeaveWeb monitor, duty-status updater, evaluations and decorations processor, filer, greeter and phone call answerer, mail distributor, point of contact for inbound personnel and records custodian.
My biggest accomplishment since being at Buckley was my effort in combining three orderly rooms into one and coming up with one combined file plan for three different squadrons.
I'm also very proud of the time and effort I spent as a Buckley Honor Guard member.
