BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Master Sgt. Lisamichelle Hughes-Belt, Air Reserve Personnel Center, is awarded the William H. Pitsenbarger Award, Senior NCO level, at the Community College of the Air Force Graduation, May 27. The Pitsenbarger award is earned by CCAF graduates who are continuing their education by working towards a Bachelor's Degree by the Air Force Association. 6/1/2010 - BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- 27 members of Team Buckley walked across the stage at the Leadership Development Center May 27, earning their Associate in Applied Sciences degree from the Community College of the Air Force.
Additionally, three Team Buckley members were awarded the William H. Pitsenbarger Award, a competitive award sponsored by the Air Force Association based on past education, job performance, future educational goals and leadership ability presented to CCAF graduates pursuing bachelors' degrees.
Master Sgt. Lisamichelle Hughes-Belt, Air Reserve Personnel Center, took the award at the senior NCO level; Staff Sgt. William Thompson, Air Force Technical Applications Center Detachment 45, earned the award at the NCO level, and Senior Airman Aleisa Stricharchuk, 566th Intelligence Squadron, went home with the Airman-level award.
The Pitsenbarger Award is named after Airman 1st Class William H. Pitsenbarger, a pararescueman who was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions during the Vietnam War. For more on Airman Pitsenbarger, see his fact sheet here.
