7/6/2012 - BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Housed in one of the smallest buildings on base is the installation's largest supply of outdoor equipment, ready for outdoor adventures and experiences.

The Buckley Outdoor Recreation Center is a business owned by the government, which provides outdoor recreational equipment to Department of Defense card holders.

ODR offers summer equipment that's available for rent such as kayaks, tents, camping gear, fishing gear and more. They also plan trips and other activities during the summer.

Jeffrey Heagerty, ODR manager, said his time spent with ODR has been very successful and satisfying. He said they provide and equip a rental program for Buckley members at a discount. ODR targets offering the best value usually at a better rate than the competitors off base.

"Finding these kinds of services at these kinds of prices is impossible in the commercial world," according to Heagerty.
