About the MTF
The 460th Medical Group provide ambulatory medical and dental services to the 460th Space Wing and Buckley Air Force Base tenant units.
The medical group provides the following patient care services: family practice, aeromedical services, pediatric, limited gynecological services, immunization, general dentistry, physical therapy, optometry, life skills, substance abuse, family advocacy, laboratory and pharmacy. Those services not offered on base are provided through the TRICARE network.
As of April 1, 2013, the West Region TRICARE insurance provider transitioned from Triwest Healthcare Alliance to United Health Care Military and Veterans. During this transition, there have been some issues/delays with beneficiaries obtaining timely access to specialty care. Due to the contractor's failure to meet the contract requirements, a limited-time waiver is being granted so that TRICARE Prime enrollees in the region may obtain care without authorization from the contractor. For West Region TRICARE Prime enrollees, the waiver of the requirement for having an authorization for specialty care applies to any referrals obtained for care from April 1, 2013 through May 18, 2013. Any beneficiary with a Buckley Medical Clinic referral that has not yet received a hardcopy authorization from United Healthcare should come to the Referral Management Center at the Buckley Medical Clinic (Colfax location -13611 E Colfax Ave, Aurora CO 80045) Monday - Friday from 0800-1600 to receive the necessary instructions and paperwork to seek specialty care.
