Nexium removed from Buckley Pharmacy

Effective immediately, the Department of Defense Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee designated Nexium and Nexium generics as non-formulary status. Due to this, the Buckley Pharmacy will no longer have this medication available.
If you’d like to switch to a formulary drug stocked at Buckley Pharmacy, we recommend you talk to your doctor and obtain a new prescription before your current prescription runs out.
Listed below are medications on the formulary in the same drug class as Nexium:
a. Omeprazole 20mg and 40mg
b. Pantoprazole 20mg and 40mg
The Buckley pharmacy will honor a one-time, 30-day supply of Nexium to help with transitioning to mail order or a formulary medication. You must have an active Nexium prescription on file with refills remaining or a new prescription (hard copy or electronic) to receive the 30-day supply.
If you want to continue taking your current medication, we encourage you to consider TRICARE Pharmacy Home Delivery. Please keep in mind that you must meet medical necessity and prior authorization requirements. Your doctor can request prior authorization by calling Express Scripts, Inc. (ESI), TRICARE Pharmacy, at 1-866-684-4488.
