    In everyone’s life, there comes a time when everything seems to take a turn for the worst. We recount these events as the turning point that change us for the rest of our lives. For Lt. Col. Kneil Novak, 460th Space Wing command post chief, and Jodi Novak, dental hygienist, their lives took a turn for the worse at the ages of 26 and 27. During a couples retreat in 2001, Jodi started to get headaches that caused her vision to appear like water was trickling over her eyes. Within a 24-hour period, Jodi experienced four of these headaches.

    The daily operations of the 460th Space Wing at Buckley Air Force Base, Colorado, comprises the second key component of the Air Force mission – Space. While members of Buckley’s total force team analyze the data received every moment of the day so they can provide warning and surveillance for America and its allies, another vital aspect of its mission is the protection of Team Buckley’s personnel and resources. Posted at every entrance throughout the base and mobilized all around Buckley’s area of operation are members of the 460th Security Forces Squadron.

  • Drones become prohibited on Buckley

    -Drones are the newest trend in hobbyist aviation. A drone or unmanned aerial system (UAS) have also become a new trend in security risks just as much as a hobby. “Drones are a serious issue for Buckley Air Force Base because you don’t know what the intention is of the person flying the drone,” said Paul Christinson, 460th Security Forces Squadron detective. “They can be used to collect intelligence and some have even been used to drop payloads that can be lethal.”

    Over the past month the 460th Medical Group has been wrapping up its “massing the medics” initiative. With the goal of supporting Team Buckley this plan entailed moving all medical facilities previously located off base back onto the installation for the first time since 1946.

    BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. - “Ladies and gentlemen, it is an exciting time to be an Airman,” said Gen. David L. Goldfein, U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff, during his keynote address at the 34th Space Symposium in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
