BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. --
Over the past month the 460th Medical Group has been wrapping up its “massing the medics” initiative.
With the goal of supporting Team Buckley this plan entailed moving all medical facilities previously located off base back onto the installation for the first time since 1946.
In addition to the MDG North and MDG South facilities recently opening to serve the medical needs of service members and their families, the Health and Wellness Annex co-located with the fitness center is already on base and provides a number of services and resources for the base.
Below is a list of what you can find at the HAWA.
-Body Fat Analysis (Bod Pod), this service gives personnel a total look at their composition from fat and muscle ratio to how many calories your body burns in a day.
-VO2 Testing, which measures fitness level and oxygen to muscle consumption.
-Disease Prevention Education (Diabetes, Hypertension, Hyperlipidemia)
-Nutritional Counseling, which helps with making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits. Also, the nutritionist can develop meal plans to meet specific medical conditions needs.
-Tobacco Cessation, services include education to prevent tobacco use and tobacco cessation programs to assist service members in quitting. Classes are held every Monday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
