You can also visit the Federal Business Opportunities website, http://fedbizopps.gov/. FedBizOpps.gov is the single government point-of-entry (GPE) for Federal government procurement opportunities over $25,000. Select "Create a Resume" to begin.
Select "Create your account now."
Fill in the boxes, and then click on "Submit."
Select "My Resumes."
Complete all applicable blocks, then click on "Save" to move on.

Are there any volunteer opportunities on base?

There are always openings for retirees, or their spouses, here at Buckley.

Can I get a tour of Buckley Air Force Base?

Due to manpower restrictions, Buckley Air Force Base does not provide base tours at this time.

I’m having an event and would like a military guest speaker. Can Buckley Air Force Base support this?

The 460th Space Wing Public Affairs Office has volunteers ready to share their experiences and knowledge on a wide-range of topics to appropriate public or private organizations via Buckley Air Force Base's Speakers Bureau.
Volunteers can speak on topics ranging from patriotism to professional development, space operations, and other military related topics. As diverse as the ranges of available topics are, so is the diversity of groups requesting speakers for their functions, meetings and conferences. They range from community appreciation days and civic group meetings to elementary school science classes. Requests should be made as far in advance as possible.
To arrange a speaker for your organization's next function, please contact the Community Relations Branch of the 460th Space Wing Public Affairs Office at 720-847-6869.

Who is assigned to Buckley Air Force Base?

Buckley Air Force Base is home to more than 10,000 men and women who proudly guard our nation's high frontier by providing combatant commanders with superior global surveillance, worldwide missile warning, homeland defense and expeditionary forces. Buckley is home to more than 37 other units representing every branch of service and components - Active Duty, National Guard and Reserve.

How do I request the Honor Guard for off-base events?

The mission of the Buckley Honor Guard is to represent the Air Force in ceremonial functions in nine Colorado counties covering more than 1,100 miles. They render military honors for Air Force personnel and their family members during funeral services and serve at Change of Command and retirement ceremonies. Another function of the Honor Guard is to provide their services for ceremonies for appropriate events attended by the general public.

For Honor Guard support for funerals or memorial services for active-duty personnel, veterans or retirees, contact the Honor Guard directly at (720) 847-6668. Funeral and memorial service requests do not need Public Affairs approval.

If approved, Public Affairs will direct you to coordinate directly with the Buckley Honor Guard.

Guidelines

 1. Provide at least 30 day's notice.

 2. Please remember that the honor guard's primary function is to support funerals. Though rare, your request could be cancelled.

 3. Requests are balanced against several factors - does it support the Air Force, does it project the proper image, is it open to the public, how many people will attend.

Air Force
The Air Force Worldwide Locator handles official and unofficial requests to locate Air Force Personnel. Visit the web site at http://www.afpc.randolph.af.mil/questions/.

Army
The Army has a locator service for those serving on active duty. Because of the large volume of requests that the Army locator receives, please allow four weeks processing time for written requests.

The following information is needed for all requests for locator services:

Give as much identifying information as possible about the person you wish to locate such as full name, rank, last duty assignment/last known military address, service number, and Social Security number.

The locator service is free to immediate family members and government officials. Other family members, civilian friends, businesses and others must pay $3.50. The check or money order must be made out to the U.S. Treasury. It is not refundable.

In addition, regulations do not permit random dissemination of listings of names and addresses of service personnel. These regulations have been established to protect individual service men and women from commercial exploitation and to respect their right of privacy.

Navy
The Navy World Wide Locator handles official and unofficial requests to locate NPersonnel.

Marine Corps
There is no comprehensive one-stop source for e-mail or mailing addresses.

How can I support deployed Airmen?

Thank you for showing interest in supporting our Airmen deployed abroad. Due to operational security concerns, we cannot give you direct mailing addresses to our deployed Airmen.

However, many organizations such as the USO (www.uso.org) or America Supports You (www.americasupportsyou.mil) manage several established programs in which the public can support our military members.
